Throughout the day
  • Watch out for Alan McKay – the Bubbleman - as he cruises the various venues with his bubbles
  • Visit the “Ewe to you” challenge. Watch members from spinning/weaving groups from around the Wellington region compete against each other to be the first to produce a garment from a fleece
  • The SCULPTURE COMPETITION will kick off at 8.00am and finish at 6.00pm. This will include well known sculptors as well as emerging new talent. Anneke Borren will judge the competition and the winners will be announced on the main stage at 6.35pm
  • The Visual Arts are being promoted through a photographic competition. Members of the Kapiti Camera Club will be on hand to record the event, and Arthur Wong will select the winning image. Visit the BOTTLE CREEK gallery to view the Festival through the years as captured by the Kapiti Camera Club
  • ”Descending the Gods” is another creative production of BodyFX, international face and body artists. Come and view the creation of the “divine” body-art during the afternoon. There will be a special area for people eager to try body art themselves, just bring a model and a good design for one of the elements. Paint products and sponges are provided, conditions apply. The “Gods” and their followers will be presented on stage at 5.25pm
  • Art and craft, displays and food stalls will be located around the park.


PORIRUA RECREATION CENTRE
 
11:00 AM-4:00 PM It will be all action again this year at the Festival of the Elements kid’s activity “KAPI-MANA NEWS ART ACTION!”

Kapi-Mana News is sponsoring what will be a wonderful experience for Porirua’s tamariki!

Art Action! Workshops will inspire kids to participate actively. Whether creating their own work of art or attempting the rock climbing wall, kids under 13 will have a unique opportunity to have fun learning new skills from the experts for – free!

8:00 AM-7:00 PM The Festival of the Elements is proud to announce a special entry price – it’s the “$2.00 Day”. Everybody pays the same entry price of $2.00. Inflatables, games, spas, saunas, steam room, toddlers pool, giveaways.
11:00 AM, 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM Back by popular demand – we are bringing back the stunning White Swan ribbon performance over the pool.

12:00 PM-6:00 PM Skate Competition
A skatecomp for all levels with the help from the DVS team and Manual Magazine team. For the top skaters - $1,500.00 for the winner. Lots of phat tunes, skate product, kai and inu for the competitors. An opportunity to watch p-towns finest boarders take on the country’s best sponsored skaters
